G.RIZO – ‘JE ME MENTIS’ – (CRE.002 – VINYL 12″)
1. JE ME MENTIS
2. ACCAPELLA
3. VERSION
produced by In Flagranti, , Fa Ventilato, Ihu Anyanwu
Codek’s think tank: Cosmic Rocker, Fa Ventilato, and Alex Gloor crank the motor on a rusty Victrola. The shellac roundabout spits sound signs from the street corner. Its dented cone blasts blessed ears with unusually low bass drops. Next door a ladder vibrates and shakes, dropping drums like falling paint cans on plywood planes. Heavy electric thumps. Between the thick spilled splashes curves a precisely annunciated message of dark emotion. Ihu Anyanwu inhales the ghost breaths of Edith Piaf, Eartha Kitt, and Nico. She recycles soul spirits into a new cosmology shrouded in echoes. Codek lo-fi hi-fi wins the day. – frosty, XLR8R Magazine
IN FLAGRANTI – ‘BANG BANG’ feat. G.RIZO -(CRE.007 – VINYL 12″ )

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘BANG BANG’ feat. G.RIZO
In Flagranti push up the tempo for a camp Eurodisco-cum-electrohouse production which combines Hi-NRG aerobic club music with a late 70s / early 80s Patrick Cowley synth fest. The Maul mix messes about chopping up samples with techno drums before astonishingly opening into f#ck off guitar rock riffs. Italy’s Ajello (recently heard on Relish’s “Italo EP”) retune it with an Italo house perspective on the electrohouse sound. – www.piccadillyrecords.com

Jacking, guitary electro on one side, camp Italo on t’other – nice.

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘BANG BANG’ feat. G.RIZO
In Flagranti return with another killer release that has the Tigersushi / Williamsburg crowd going nuts. “Bang Bang” has been a huge release for Tiga & Felix Da Housecat and is one part electroclash with a dash of M.I.A. fantastic layered ar peggiated synths and an infectious female vocal. Three mixes in total here. All essential for the aformentioned dj’s followers.

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘BANG BANG’ feat. G.RIZO
Huzzah… it’s disco time again! In Flagranti’s sasha crnobrnja (from the much-missed organic grooves affair) and alex gloor raise sylvester from the dead via an arpeggiated sample and an anything-is-possible-if-you- want-it-bad-enough attitude. and anything featuring g. rizo- downtown NYHC’s own version of grace jones-on vocals is okay by us.
