Fa Ventilato
born in 1967
in Switzerland, the Rheintal (St.Gallen).
Fa started drumming at age 10.
With 18 he joined a party soul/funk band for 6 years.
Later, he did studies in jazz with Alberto Canonico
and improvisation with Pierre Favre.
In 1996 he moved to NYC to join the band "Halcion"
as
their drummer. 2 years later he meets Alex and Sasha,
founders of Codek Records. In 2000, Fa teams up with
Sasha Crnobrnja for their first album Flora & Fauna
"Schoehn" for Codek Records.
His most recent works as a Producer/Re-mixer are found
in projects like: Nelson "Electric Chair Cut", Bingo
Palace, Lorenzi-Ventilato, FaKingTosh, Göldin meets
FaKingTosh, and Fuckintosh.
Since 2000 he
has been also following live projects in
Europe, Switzerland, with: "Plasmatic Food" (Rohbau
Records) a ambient/collective from the Swiss-Rheintal,
in collaboration with their founder Carlo Lorenzi
(jazz-drummer/composer).
Still in Switzerland, Fa has been working as a music
composer for the Swiss dance/theater company "Sans
Filtre" since 2001.
In 2003 he founds
the label "Killing Music At Home" to
put out exclusively his mash-up vs. series named
"Fuckintosh". A strictly 2 cd-player-manipulation-performance,
as he likes to call it.
His music has
been played on Radio Shows like:"Toxic
FM" (St.Gallen, Switzerland, 2002/03) and "Radio
Flash" (Torino, Italy, 2004).
In the Art world, Fa is credited for doing the
music/sound on installations for international artists
like: Luisa Rabbia, Monika Bravo, Moataz Nazar.
His most recent music score in 2004 is for the 7th
BIFF (Brooklyn International Film Festival) Trailer.
As of today
Fa lives and works in NYC.
